No incidents. Period.
Our safety, health and environmental goals can be summed up in one word—Zero. Zero incidents. Zero accidents. Zero anything. We subscribe to the idea that every incident is preventable. We don’t accept, and won’t accept, that incidents, mishaps or accidents are a part of doing business.
We take that statement very seriously. We back it up with industry codes that are the mainstay of the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care® Program. The codes consist of seven indispensable steps: community awareness and emergency response; pollution prevention; security; distribution; employee health and safety; process safety; and product stewardship. Each is as important as the other. All are designed to reduce the likelihood that an emergency situation will ever arise.
Olin never loses sight of these seven key responsibilities. We constantly emphasize the importance of monitoring the safety, security and environmental impact of all our plants. Through our day-to-day vigilance, Olin Chlor Alkali continues to be recognized as one of the industry’s best performers.
